Open House 2011

Open House at KHA (formerly CCS) is always a full-blown huge event for the school where the kids showcase their projects (or you can sometimes say the 'parents' projects) and to take a peek at the other classes and grades. The kids always go to their last year's class to check out what those students did in comparison to theirs and they go to next year's grade to check out what they have to do next year. All the teachers and students go all out in displaying all that they learned in the past months at school.

Last Friday was Open House where the kids showcased their amazing projects..

Emily's 4th grade class focused on CA History and had to make a model of the Gold Rush, Transcontinental Railroad or a CA Mission. Can you guess what she choose? In addition, she had to write a report, make a brochure and presentation about her project.

Hannah's 1st grade focused on the Rainforests. They had to also do a report, presentation, and a life sized model of their animal. Hannah chose the pink Amazon river dolphin.
Next year in 2nd grade, the focus is on Oceans. (Emily made a leafy-seadragon when she was in 2nd grade.) Let's hope Hannah does not choose the Orca Whale.

A big "Thank you" to Rachel who helped on both projects over 2 weekends. (Apparently, she never gets homework on the weekends .. lucky gal!)

Two more 'pieces' to add to our little home.. sigh... where to put them...
