Snow Here!

For Hannah's 8th birthday, she wants a snow party. We couldn't send everyone to Tahoe so this was the other option. Buying snow and bringing it to the house. KHA's preschool always have snow parties in the winter time and I always wondered where the snow came from.

Right down the street actually. Glacier Ice sells snow! Who would have known! We bought one bag of snow to try it out to see how 'snowy' it was. It's actually finely crushed ice (like for snow cones). The 'real' snow where they bring in the machines was wayyyyy too expensive.

This will do. Now to figure out how many bags to buy that would make a good sized mound to play in...

Sounds like it's going to be FUN!

Our neighbors down the street have had a Christmas party with snow filling their front yard and parkway. They have a ice company bring the snow to them. B/c depending on the pile you want, it's a ton of snow. Maybe see if a local ice company can do that for you too. If you buy in bulk like that, they may make a deal.

Just a thought.

Our schools in So Cal had snow parties by filling up the backs of trucks with the scraped off ice from the local ice rinks when they level the rink in the mornings. The parents had to do all the shoveling into the backs of the pick ups, but it was always a ton of fun for the kids. Are there any ice rinks near you?
