Happiest Place on Earth

So it's been over 1-1/2 yrs when we last visited Disneyland and CA Adventure. They have some new rides so we planned to check them out. We met our dear friends, the W. family, at the Park. They graciously spent the whole time with us at the Parks. They even stayed in a hotel next to the Park in order to not have to drive back and forth to their home. I could not believe they did that just for us. It touched my heart and I felt so loved by their gesture and dedication to wanting to spend time with us. (And I'm sure their kids did not complain that they got to stay in a hotel and go to Disneyland for two days either.)

The first day was at Disneyland.
We went to get fast passes to Star Tours (one of the new refurbished rides) and hit Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters.
I never ever do well on this ride. I just don't have a good eye to aim well. Even Hannah got a higher score than me! (as you can see from above). My husband cheated or something because he got 530,500.. the highest score he's ever gotten on this ride. He was quite proud of himself!
Next was Star Tours.. they revamped this ride and they say that there are 50 different versions of this ride too! We didn't ride it 50 times though.. just once. The wait time was horrendous. Thank goodness for the Fast Pass!
JD really loved this ride! I have to admit this ride was redone very well! Very entertaining and I'm sure very surprising each time you ride it since it's different each time.

Hannah and Marissa were best-ies!! They were so cute together. You know that they are only 3 months apart in age! Can you guess who's older?
The Tiki Room was a wonderful time to relax in the cool AC darkened room ... yes, we older folk got some shut-eye.
Lisa convinced us to go canoeing. Over the many times we come here, we have never ever done that. (It's a recreational physical activity remember?)
Let's just say it was not that easy. Got to keep the rhythm going or you'll knock into your neighbors oar. Hannah did not like getting splashed so she mostly just sat there and pouted (after this picture was taken).

One of my favorite rides is The Pirates of the Caribbean. I totally thought this had a fast pass but it doesn't (anymore) so this was the ride we waited on the longest in Disneyland.. 30 minutes. I actually love the drop in the beginning.. I know.. I'm such an adventurer!
Fancy horse riding!
Taking a snack break with HUGE rice krispy treats!

Next up.. California Adventure!
