Super Silly Fun Land

One of our favorite movies surprisingly was "Despicable Me". I wasn't too thrilled with the trailer so we never planned on watching it. We watched it as a bargain movie when we were in Reno and loved it! When we heard there was a "Despicable Me"mini-theme park at Universal we couldn't wait to check it out!
Check out the minions on the building!

I think this is "Paul". I can't tell them apart. They all look the alike. Just like Asians.
In front of Miss Haddy's Home for Girls facade
It was here that we met Margo and Edith
I think this is "Tim" in front of Mr. Gru's car
This is supposed to be the same game where Agnes wins the fluffy unicorn but it's not exactly the same as the movie.
I think this is "Lary"
Universal is easily done in one day. Nothing like Disneyland where you'd need 2-3 days to cover the parks. We went when LA schools were back in session so it wasn't crowded and thankfully it wasn't too hot.

3D All the Way!

Our last vacation for the summer was to Universal Studios..
A lot has changed since the last time Matthew and I were here.

This was 1990... only 1 year of dating.. pre-premarriage
No more A-Team Van..
(also no more baggy sweaters, turtlenecks and pearl necklaces.)
It's now 3D everything..
Transformers.. we (except Matthew) had no idea what this was about...
...nor this one.. Matthew and Hannah were brave enough to venture on it
But we did remember the Studio Tram Tour
Taken by Matthew's handy camera stick
This was a new section..
A scene from War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise, of which I did not see (I boycott all of his films now ever since he divorced Nicole Kidman.. yes you can say I'm bitter about that I'm also an anti-Brangelina fan but I digress.. )
I remember the WaterWorld show.

And the Shrek 4D show was entertaining.
The donkey was very funny and personable!!
I LOVE Lucy!
This is the biggest krispie treat I have ever seen!
On the red carpet...
Dinner!
