Extractions

Hannah had to have her teeth pulled at the dentists office at the beginning of this year. Her top two teeth were loose and were getting looser and looser and then not so much. It seems that the torn tissue was repairing itself, adhering itself to the loose teeth making it not as loose as before. So they had to be pulled. Ouch! Also her bottom two teeth's permanent ones were coming in and the baby teeth were not loose yet. They too had to come out. So they had to be pulled. Double Double Ouch!

After her four extractions, Hannah wrote out her experience.

She was very brave and the Tooth Daddy (we don't believe in the Tooth Fairy) came to give her four $5 dollar bills. She made out with $20!

To date, Hannah has never lost a tooth! At the age of 8, she has had a total of six teeth extracted. This is becoming very expensive with the anesthesia, extractions, and tooth daddy money not to mention the emotional drain on her and us from her anxiety-prone crying before going to the dentist!
Now we have learned that she has to go see an orthodontist since her two front teeth are coming in straight on top of her bottom teeth. Plus (through an x-ray) her permanent teeth are huge compared to her baby teeth and it doesn't look like she has space enough for all of them.. Sigh...I'm sure you'll read another post about the orthodontist's experience from me ...and her!

ONGOING CONTEST... remember I will enter your name with each comment you post on anything I've written through February 9 . Random winner will receive a BIG prize!

Wow, she's never lost a tooth yet? All extracted? That sounds painful.
Nathan just lost a tooth the other night. He was drinking some water and it came out. Unlike his first two teeth, he didn't swallow it.
The toothfairy on the other hand just can't get it right and seems to miss the first night the tooth is under the pillow and pays late (guilt) fees. Because of that, Nathan doesn't have a firm grasp on how much the toothfairy is supposed to give for each tooth. LOL.

poor Hannah...having to lose teeth the "dentist way" can't be fun at all. btw: seeing an orthodontist won't be too bad--we went through this with Nat. His adult teeth were crowded out because his upper palate wasn't wide enough. it was a slow (looong) process, but has paid off in the end!
