Emily loves loves wild birds. She subscribes to a few birding websites and magazines such as the Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. This place is the premier place for the study of birds.

The Cornell Lab is in Ithaca: a 4 hour drive northwest from Manhattan. We figure that since we were this close we should visit it and Emily full-heartedly agreed!
